We have a beautiful, older, in-ground Japanese Maple bush. She is about 4 feet high. Someone suggested that we mulch her last year, but it seems to have caused her harm. Before mulching, she had a rich, mossy ecosystem that lived beneath her, and I believe that this mossy ecosystem helped to retain moisture for her.

I had asked for smaller, shorter, types of different moss. I got one excellent piece with good diversity, but still pretty tall. But all the rest was a large fern-type moss which I couldn't use. Also I paid for priority shipping and it took awhile to get.

It was in great condition, very green and moist. I used it with some lichen in a little dish garden, with enough to use in a globe terrarium, and put around base of one of my plants. I only hope I can keep it alive. I have been misting daily or every other day.

I may be growing the moss wrong but it's slowly turning brown. I spray it everyday and have watered it twice since building my bath mat. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or what I could have done differently or better. Send me some advice on how to do this right? I put a lot of peat moss in the soil, mixed it well and placed small amounts in each hole I planned on placing moss. I tore pieces from each different moss mound to fill each hole (under the impression it would just re-grow). It does not look how I anticipated. Maybe I did something wrong or didn't use the right soil. email me with tips pretty please. Otherwise I did enjoy the moss and how it came and it looked so green and spritely. I hope that I can turn it around and keep it green. Thanks again. ;)

I was rather surprised when it came, I wasn't expecting such a small package and was rather pleased that I wasn't opening a huge box, not only that but when I opened the box it was effectively packaged and there wasn't any room wasted. The moss is rather resilient and even though this is my first time growing it the moss seems to be doing rather well. I really am coming to enjoy this quite a bit. I give it a ten out of ten
